Privacy Policy

The short version
Simple Walker does not collect any data. It reads from Apple Health on your iPhone, shows you what you walked, and sends nothing anywhere. There are no analytics, no ads and no accounts. We don't know who you are or when you use the app.
What Simple Walker reads
With your permission, Simple Walker reads these from Apple Health (HealthKit): steps, walking and running distance, flights climbed, heart rate and active energy. It reads the last few weeks so it can find your walks and compare today with your usual. It asks for read access only and writes nothing to Apple Health.
While the app is open, it can also count today's steps live with your iPhone's motion sensors (Motion & Fitness), so the numbers move as you walk.
What it keeps
Only its own settings, on your iPhone: whether good-news notifications are on, whether it has offered them, and the day of the last notification. Deleting the app deletes them.
Notifications
Notifications are off until you turn them on. When they are on, Apple Health wakes the app at most once an hour when new steps arrive. The app checks for good news on your iPhone and, at most once a day, shows a notification. Nothing is sent to a server: there is none.
No internet, no third parties
The app makes no network connections. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code and shares nothing with anyone. Your Health data is never used for advertising and never leaves your iPhone through Simple Walker. The links in the app's About section open this website in Safari.

This website
simplewalker.com runs no analytics and loads no web fonts, scripts or images from other companies. It sets no cookies of its own. Our hosting provider sets a technical cookie for Cloudflare's bot protection, which expires after 30 minutes. Like any website, the host processes standard request data, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages. The website never receives anything from the app.
European users (GDPR)
Simple Walker does not collect or process personal data on any server, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. Your walking data stays in Apple Health on your iPhone, under your control.
Children
Simple Walker collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
