Five tabs: Today, Week, Year, Bests and Settings. Here is what each one shows. Your year has its own page.

Today: steps in large type on a dark card with the day strip, bright where you walked and dimmer where you moved about, then Walking, Distance, Floors and Energy, the day's heart rate on one bar, and the walks

Your whole day, on one line

A thin strip from 6:00 to 22:00, under your steps. Bright where you walked, dimmer where you were moving about between walks. One look tells you how your day went. Tap a walk's mark to open that walk.

Steps, distance, floors, energy and heart rate count your whole day, so they match the Health app. Walking time counts your walks only. How walks are found

Your steps, and five plain numbers

Steps
The headline: all of today's steps, walks or not, and how that compares with yesterday at the same time.
Walking
How long you spent in walks today.
Distance
How far you went today, walks or not.
Floors
Flights of stairs climbed, counted by your iPhone.
Heart rate
Your day on one bar: lowest, average and highest, as Apple Health works them out. It needs an Apple Watch.
Energy
One number, in kilocalories. Never two that disagree.

Arrows by the date, or a swipe, step back through earlier days and weeks, as far as Apple Health goes.

One walk: its minutes, distance, steps, floors, energy, pace in one word, and a heart-rate chart

Every walk, in plain numbers

Tap a walk for its minutes, distance, steps, floors and energy, and its pace in one word: Fast or Easy. If you wore an Apple Watch, your heart rate is drawn as one calm line.

Good news only

When a number beats your usual (your last four weeks, up to the same time of day), the walker celebrates with you. If you like, a quiet notification tells you: at most one a day, and never "less than usual". It comes within about an hour, and it's the one switch in Settings: "Tell me when I beat my usual".

  • Steps

8,000 steps so far. Ahead of your usual.

  • Walking time

40 min of walking by 10:00. More than usual.

  • Distance

6.1 km today. Further than you usually go.

  • Floors

12 floors today. The most this month.

  • Longest walk

35 min in one go. Your longest walk in 2 weeks.

  • Rare wins

58 min in one go. Your longest walk in 4 weeks.

The week: its total steps and one strip showing when you walked on a dark card, steps each day as bars with the number above each one, then Walking, Steps per day, Distance and Floors

Your week at a glance

Your steps for the week and how they compare with the last one, with one strip showing when you walked across the week: walks bright, moving about dimmer. Below, your steps each day, with the number above each bar. Tap a bar, or a day on the strip, to open that day. Walking time, steps per day, distance and floors sit underneath.

Bests: the walker cheering under a star, most steps in a day on a dark card, and more records as tiles, each with its number, its date and a walker pose

Your bests

Your records, from every day Apple Health holds: most steps in a day, best week, best month, best year, farthest in a day, most floors in a day, and every step you've taken. Most steps in a day shows how close today is. Each shows its date and its own walker pose; tapping a one-day record opens that day, and your best week opens that week. No streaks: a streak that ends is bad news.

Share

Every tab has Share at the end of its top row. Today, the Week and your Bests go as a picture of their dark card. Your year goes as an animated picture, a video with its music, or a picture: share your year. Send it, or save it to Photos. It's all made on your iPhone, and it goes only where you send it.
